Cubs, Scouts, Guides and Brownies

Lieut. C. Critchley-Salmonson settled at West Down around 1910 inaugurated the Boy Scout movement in Bradworthy.

The scout group was reformed in June 1948 and the Rev. E.W. Rowbotham of Putford was appointed scoutmaster, who left shortly after.

The scout group resumed its activities in 1950 with Mr. G. Lyle as scoutmaster.

Brownies

The 1st Bradworthy Brownie Guides, June 1989

Mrs. Fraser ran a Brownie group from the Vicarage during her stay there during the Second Wold War.

Some of the girls became Guides when they reached the right age.

The 1st Bradworthy Brownie Guides was started in May 1989, with numbers quickly rising from 12 to 20. They currently meet every Wednesday evening. Contact Rebecca Javes
